I talk about my art, but I don’t always share many personal details about me. So just for fun, I thought I’d create a top 10 list of things that you may not know about me.

1. I live in Appalachia and I was engaged at 16. It isn’t a hick thing, I just found my soul mate early. We waited until I was 24 to get married. Long engagements run in my family.

2. I’m the first one in my whole family to go to college. My sister is way smarter than me, but she is 3 years younger, so I beat her to it.  We are both Penn Staters, along with with our husbands.

3. I’m also a U. of Maryland Terapin. I went there for my master’s degree in art history.  Yes, I have a B.A. and an M.A. in art history. ART HISTORY ROCKS!

4. Do you know who else is a Penn Stater? Johnathan Frakes, of Star Trek fame. My husband and I shamelessly sat up front at a convention wearing our PSU sweatshirts so he would notice us. We got an enthusiastic finger point from him.

5. I love Twilight. Not the movies so much, but the books. If you are curious, I am Team Edward.

6. Our house is one cat short of official “animal shelter” status. Well, I’m not sure how many cats that takes, but we usually have 6 at any given time. That is our threshold number so people don’t think we are crazy.

7. I was a HUGE television addict as a young teen. I had a favorite show for every night of the week. I kept a scrapbook with all of my teen crushes: Remington Steele, BJ and the Bear, Face from the A-Team’s, and the list goes on and on. I still have the scrapbook.

8. On the TV topic: my mom gave all of us kids “M” names. I was 15 when my brother was born. Mom said that I could select the “M” name for a possible boy, and my sister could choose the girl’s “M” name. My brother is named Michael after Knight Rider’s Michael Knight,  a frequent star in my teen scrapbook. David Hasselhoff was cool in the 80s. Really, he was.

9. I love The Walking Dead and Hello Kitty equally. I don’t know how, but I do.

10. I once gave a Ferengi oo-mox, but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Don’t worry, my husband is cool with it. He’s the only reason that I even know what oo-mox is.
