  • A Polymer Clay Purrmaid Figurine

The Purrmaid Project polymer clay figurine modeled after my cat Lucy 3 x 4.5 x 1.5 in Shop This little purrmaid figurine started with a basic form that I sculpted from Super Sculpey. I cured the base in the oven before adding the colored clay so I could work without smooshing the details.

  • Destroy to Create

If you are still in shock that I chose to gouge the face off my cat sculpture rather than live with the original “meh” work, I thought you’d like to see the results.  The new “Lucy” evokes emotions in a way that the original never could. • Those Stupid, Bulging Eyes

Black and white image of a destroyed cat sculpture

For two years she stared at me with those stupid, bulging eyes. At first, I found her endearing. After all, she was mine. At the time of her creation, she reflected the best of my abilities. Yet now, she no longer felt “good enough.”  Her mere existence fed my insecurity, whispering, “Neither of us is […]

  • Stylish Evette the Bat OOAK sculpture

Evette is coquettish, spirited, and glamorous. In other words, she is the exact opposite of introverted me 🙂 It is hilarious to picture me snuggled up in my favorite pink hoodie while I sculpted her big blue eyes. Sure, I can find a little sex appeal for a night out with the hubby, but for […]

  • Say Hi at Sci Fi Valley Con

My husband is a huge sci fi fan and we attend several “Cons” each year. While he looks at phasers and starships, I wander around checking out the fantasy artists. This weekend I’m going to be on the other side of the table with people checking out my wares at the Sci Fi Valley Con in Altoona, […]
